Meet The Founder
Petronella is the Managing Director and Founder of Mustard Seed Advisory (MSA) Zimbabwe, with and MBA qualification from the University of Liverpool. She has over 30 years’ experience in financial inclusion and related disciplines. She is a renowned global speaker, facilitator technical advisor and mentor in assignments undertaken in over 32 countries mostly from Sub Saharan Africa. Petronella’s expertise demonstrates the ability to work in diverse cultural settings; conducting management training, mentoring and coaching senior managers, governance and C-Suite executives in countries like Bolivia, China, India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mauritius; conducting gender analyses and risk assessments, and executing long term multi-disciplinary assignments in countries like Tanzania and Ghana. Her current portfolio includes management of a refugees’ financial inclusion project for four East African countries namely Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan and Uganda for the ILO Prospects. She is also the master trainer in four international courses being offered by the same ILO. Petronella sits on a number of boards including the global board for Vision Fund – a subsidiary of World Vision. She has been involved in recent publications on Resilient and inclusive financial services delivery during Covid-19 and How regulators use sex-disaggregated data to enhance Financial Inclusion. Petronella was a senior faculty member for the Boulder Institute of Microfinance for 22years. Her capacity to transfer skills and set up greenfield operations, thus translating vision to operations, is evidenced by entities such as former MicroKing (now MicroCred); Community Bank in CBZ (which has become Red Sphere Microfinance), EB Accion Ghana; and Women Enterprise Fund (Gambia). Petronella is based in Harare Zimbabwe and travels extensively across SSA.
